We get these questions a lot
Some of you might be thinking:
“The Happiness Path sounds great. But I have questions.”
Honestly? We love questions.
Choosing an experience for your daughter, especially one involving her confidence, wellbeing, relationships, and personal growth, is an important decision.
And besides, “what actually happens in the Happiness Path”, which you can read about here.
These are some of the questions parents ask us most often.
Recap: 7 weeks of confidence, connection & resilience building
The Happiness Path is a 7-week journey designed to help girls explore who they are, what matters to them, and how they want to move through the ups and downs of adolescence.
Each week combines a variety of experiences, including:
Conversation and reflection
Creative and experiential activities
Opportunities for connection
Confidence and wellness-building
Exploring relationships and resilience
A little movement
And, yes… some fun
This isn’t seven weeks of sitting in a circle being asked to talk about your feelings.
Girls can explore, create, reflect, connect, laugh, and try things out in different ways. The goal is to create an experience that feels meaningful without feeling like school, another lecture, or seven weeks of being put on the spot.
What if she doesn't want to talk or share?
She doesn’t have to.
One of the things that matters most to us is that girls have choice in how they participate.
Some girls might jump into conversations right away. Others may prefer to listen, observe, participate through an activity, or take a little more time before sharing.
There is no requirement to tell the group your deepest secrets.
You don’t have to share everything to belong.
In fact, sometimes simply being around other girls, hearing different perspectives, trying something new, or realizing, “Oh… I’m not the only one who thinks about that,” can be incredibly meaningful.
What if she doesn't fit in with the other girls?
This is a completely understandable concern.
Walking into a room full of people you don’t know can feel intimidating, especially for a girl who is shy, anxious, socially cautious, or simply unsure of herself.
We don’t expect participants to walk in on day one already feeling confident and connected.
The program is intentionally designed to gradually create opportunities for girls to become more comfortable with one another over time.
Connection isn’t something we force.
It’s something we create space for.
And sometimes, the girls who are most worried about fitting in discover that there are other girls in the room wondering the exact same thing.
Is The Happiness Path therapy?
No.
The Happiness Path is a wellness and psychoeducational group co-facilitated by a psychologist.
The program includes reflection, learning, discussion, and experiential activities that may feel meaningful, and sometimes even therapeutic, but it is not individual or group therapy.
Instead, think of it as a space for intentional growth.
Girls have the opportunity to build skills, increase self-awareness, explore their values, strengthen confidence, and connect with other girls who are also navigating adolescence.
Because the program is co-facilitated by a psychologist, some insurance plans may reimburse the cost. We recommend checking with your insurance provider before registering to see whether your specific plan offers coverage. Insurance-friendly receipts are provided.
What if she's already in therapy?
We love that for her.
The Happiness Path can complement individual therapy by giving girls an opportunity to explore growth in a completely different environment.
Individual therapy offers one-on-one support.
The Happiness Path offers something different: connection, shared experiences, skill-building, reflection, and the opportunity to learn alongside peers.
Sometimes growth happens when someone has a private space to talk.
And sometimes it happens when she realizes:
“Maybe I’m not the only one figuring this out.”
What if she's actually doing pretty well?
Yessss!
Seriously.
Girls don’t have to be struggling to benefit from The Happiness Path.
This isn’t just a program for girls who are having a difficult time.
It’s also for the girl who is doing relatively well but wants to continue growing.
Think of it a little like building a foundation before you need it.
Confidence.
Self-awareness.
Healthy relationships.
Resilience.
Knowing what matters to you.
Learning how to navigate difficult moments.
These aren’t just things we want girls to discover once life gets hard.
They’re things worth intentionally developing along the way.
What about the investment?
I know investing in something like this is an important decision.
The value isn’t simply in attending seven weekly meetings.
It’s in seven weeks of intentionally creating space for your daughter to explore her confidence, wellbeing, relationships, resilience, and the person she is becoming.
It’s also a group experience, which means girls have an opportunity to learn and grow alongside other girls, while accessing professional guidance and meaningful programming without the commitment of ongoing individual therapy.
And perhaps most importantly?
You’re investing in time and space for her to intentionally focus on herself.
Send us a message if you want to talk it through 403.689.7970
What if I need to talk to my daughter first?
Please do.
In fact, we encourage it.
We want girls to have some ownership in the decision to participate.
Tell her about The Happiness Path.
Show her the program page.
Let her ask questions.
Let her be curious.
And let her decide whether it feels like something she’s interested in exploring.
The goal isn’t to convince her.
It’s to help her understand what The Happiness Path actually is and decide whether it feels like the right next step for her.
What if she needs to miss a week?
Each week is intentionally designed as part of the larger H.A.P.P.Y. journey, so we encourage girls to attend all seven weeks whenever possible.
That said…
Life happens.
School events happen.
Family plans happen.
Sports tournaments happen.
If your daughter needs to miss a week, we’ll work with you to help ensure she still gets as much as possible from the overall experience.
What ages is The Happiness Path for?
The Happiness Path is for teen girls ages 12-17
The program creates opportunities for girls navigating this unique stage of life to explore confidence, relationships, wellness, resilience, and self-discovery alongside peers.
What if, after hearing all of this, she says, “Nope.”?
We can respect that.
A confident no can actually be a wonderful thing.
It can mean she’s advocating for herself and expressing what feels right for her.
But sometimes “no” doesn’t necessarily mean absolutely not.
Sometimes it means:
“I’m not sure.”
“I don’t really understand what this is.”
“I’m worried I’ll have to talk about personal things.”
“What if I don’t know anyone?”
“What if everyone else is different from me?”
A little more information can help.
You might show her the program page and let her explore it herself. Let her ask questions. Help her understand what she might actually get from the experience.
And if she still says no?
That’s okay too.
We want girls to feel like participants, not passengers who were dropped off somewhere they never wanted to be.

We’re happy to have a quick conversation and answer any questions.
Because choosing an experience like this shouldn’t feel confusing or pressured.
It should feel like an opportunity to ask:
Could this be a meaningful part of her journey?
